Gulf for Good and Larchfield Charity Gala Ball 2019 poster
Gulf for Good has unveiled details of the highly anticipated annual charity Gala Ball, in partnership with Larchfield Children’s Home. The black-tie event is aimed at raising much needed funds for two hard-working charities, Gulf for Good and Larchfield Children’s Home, who are dedicated to changing the lives of children around the world. The ball will be held at the stunning Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah on Friday 22nd November, and promises to be a spectacular evening for an excellent cause.

In the hopes of becoming one of the best Galas yet and raising more money than last year’s event, this year’s charity fundraiser will be launching a host of brand new initiatives such as the Giving Tree initiative, which allows attendees to “grant a wish” for the children who are a part of a long-standing charity project at Gulf for Good. Also part of the event is a welcome reception, a delicious themed three-course dinner and live entertainment, as well as an auction and raffle hosted by Dubai’s favourite TV and radio host, Tom Urquhart, who has been supporting Gulf for Good for over five years.

Anne Edmondson, Chairwoman of Gulf for Good, said: “I’m really excited about all the new and innovative elements we are introducing to the programme this year. Last year I challenged ball goers to join us on our summer Kilimanjaro challenge, and we were just overwhelmed with the response. The result was ‘45 challengers’ climbed Kilimanjaro and raised over AED 400k in funds breaking all records for the most amount raised from any single challenge! This year I’m looking forward to throwing down the gauntlet again and having guests participate in our exciting challenges for 2020. There will be all sorts of surprises on the night, so please join us as we gather together to raise funds for these deserving children.”

Gulf for Good work tirelessly with the local community and corporates, encouraging people to step outside their comfort zone and get involved in fundraising for vulnerable and disadvantaged children around the world. In 2020, our international charity projects will focus on improving access to basic education for all children in Thailand, Nepal, Uganda, Peru and Lebanon.

Larchfield Children’s Home is a Gulf for Good-sponsored project in Tanzania; an orphanage and school being built for children who have been abandoned by their parents, either due to disease or death. Larchfield Co-Founder and Gulf for Good Board Member, James Berry, says, “It’s heartening to see my life-long dream of building a children’s home come to fruition, giving children a chance to have a safe and happy childhood. We still have a long way to go, but the Gala Ball is a step in the right direction and allows like-minded people to support us, while enjoying a fun evening.”

Doors open at 7pm for a prompt 8pm start. For sponsorship opportunities and any other enquiries, please contact: ball@gulf4good.org
